The Spirit of Tewaaraton Award To Be Presented in 2009
The Tewaaraton Award Foundation will confer a special award, “Spirit of Tewaaraton,” this year during the Tewaaraton Awards presentation upon Roy D. Simmons, Jr., former Syracuse University men's lacrosse coach. The award will be presented for only the fourth time in the nine-year history of the Foundation.

The Tewaaraton Award Foundation announces the 6th Annual Baltimore/Washington High School Watch List. Male and female players from the area, were nominated to be a part of the Baltimore/Washington Regional High School All-Tewaaraton Team, which will be honored at the 9th Annual Awards Banquet on May 28, 2009.

2009 Tewaaraton Award Presentation Date Announced
The Tewaaraton Foundation is pleased to announce that the 9th Annual Tewaaraton Award Ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 28th, 2009.  It is the year of the Onondaga and Tewaaraton will be presenting the 4th Annual Native Awards, and the 6th Annual High School All-Tewaaraton Team Awards.  For more information, click here.
2008 Tewaaraton Trophy Awardees Presented by Warrior Announced
The Tewaaraton Award Foundation announces Hannah Nielsen, Northwestern University, and Mike Leveille, Syracuse University, as the 2008 Tewaaraton Trophy winners presented by Warrior.

Hannah and Mike were chosen from an initial list of forty-four female and fifty-two male watchlist nominees. Each list was reduced to 18 and 22 nominees respectively, and then 5 finalists who were recognized at the Tewaaraton Awards Banquet on May 29, 2008 at the National Museum of the American Indian in Washington, DC.

Tewaaraton Announces 2008 Outstanding Native High School Player Award Winners

The Tewaaraton Award Foundation announces that Emmett Printup, Tonawanda Seneca, Turtle Clan and Corinne Abrams, Tuscarora Nation, Turtle Clan, are the 2008 Oustanding Native High School Player Award Winners. In addition to the award, Emmett and Corinne will each receive a $5,000 University Club Foundation Scholarship to be used for educational purposes. Both Corinne and Emmett received this honor for their high level of lacrosse skills but most importantly as great students, for their good sportsmanship and their leadership on and off the field. They will join us on May 29th to be honored at the Tewaaraton Banquet at the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian.
