WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Tewaaraton Foundation is pleased to announce that Jacob Byrne, Associate Attorney at Venable LLP, has joined its Board of Directors.

Byrne brings a diverse background in law and business, as well as professional athletics. His experience as an elite athlete provides a unique perspective that aligns closely with the mission of the Tewaaraton Foundation.
Before his legal career, Byrne worked in medical device and sports equipment sales, and was a professional lacrosse player, earning recognition as a Major League Lacrosse All-Star in 2008.
He earned his JD from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Johns Hopkins University, where he helped lead the Jays to two national championships (2005 and 2007) as a two-time All-American and NCAA All-Tournament honoree as a senior.
“It’s an honor to be part of an organization that represents the highest values of the game through its origins and long history,” said Byrne. “I am privileged to give back to the sport in this manner and look forward to serving The Tewaaraton Foundation."
“Jake brings great expertise to our Board,” said Jeffrey Harvey, Chairman of the Board. “He is an accomplished player who will bring a wide array of insights that will help advance the Foundation’s mission and long-term vision.”
